Laura Montarroso Daher is an Audio and Music Technology Graduate. Graduating with First degree honours from the University of the West of England, Bristol. Throughout her years at university, she has gained valuable industry experience - producing and recording local bands in Spain and the UK as well as promoting and developing artists' careers.
Laura's passion for music shifted towards the business and commercial industries when working for Peermusic Spain, one of the most recognised independent music publishing companies worldwide. Conducting music searches for film, television and advertising, and proactively developing music campaigns related to the synchronisation side of the business, have been her main roles. This sparked her interest in music branding; her research examines the symbiotic relationship of brands and bands.
Before attending UWE Laura completed a foundation course in Digital sound at CICE professional school of new technologies in Madrid, Spain. The course covered composing, recording, editing, mixing and audio production software with AVID ProTools.
During this time Laura also completed the CELTA language education degree from the British Language Center earning a Cambridge ESOL Level 5* Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA). On completion of the course Laura’s clients included the marketing and production directors at Hearst Magazines Spain, one the worlds largest publishers of monthly magazines such as ELLE, Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire.
Laura is originally from Madrid and has traveled to different parts of Europe and the US. She also had the privilege of living in the UK and the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia. This contrast in culture and lifestyle has been essential in her professional and personal development.
During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and playing sports, one of her passions being football.
Laura is a quick learner and always enjoys a challenge.
